After a 2.5 mile hike to the back-side of Enchanted Rock (central Texas) with my son's Boy Scout troop late last Friday evening we arrived at our campsite.  This was my first and last shot for the night.  It was about 11pm and I was carrying 4 liters of water, two DSLRs, 3 lenses, tent, bag, and all the rest of the stuff needed for primitive camping.  My backpack was roughly twice the weight it should have been.

This is a 20 second exposure at f/2.8 and ISO 1600.  Taken with a Canon 5D Mark II and the Samyang 14/2.8 UMC lens.

Where will we go?

Great night sky, Roy.  Composition-wise, I would crop a bit off the left side to get the ponderer off center.

Thanks John.  I suppose I could do that a a cost of removing stars.  I can't crop any further from the bottom...my boots are already pretty low in the frame.  I'm "pondering" more up though, more like 12:30 than 3:00 Smiley
