Hey guys,

My name is Chris, Im 22.  Actually today is my 22 birthday believe it or not.  Alot of my friends are really into photography but none of them really do any HDR pictures from what I have seen from their work.  They have done timelapses and stuff and I really never thought I would get into photography until a few of my friends from other websites started rambling about how sweet HDR pictures were.   So now I find myself looking on youtube and flickr all the time just looking at HDR pictures and I am not starting to realize that this may be a direction I want to travel.

I really love the quality you can get from taking HDR shots.  I havn't even had the chance to do it yet but from what I am seeing it looks easy enough.  I understand it atleast, and it dosn't look like its too hard but it looks like something that would be fun and you can do it pretty much all year 'round as long as its' not raining on your camera.

Its about to be winter time here in Ohio and I think this would be a great time to start possibly getting into this.  Some of the clouds and scenery we get here can be really beautiful if you know your way around.

Anyways hopefully my stay will be long here and enjoyable.

Btw,  What kind of camera would you guys recomend to me for getting into this?

RipSiK,

Well first thanks for stopping by and asking your questions and telling us about what you are looking for in photography.  First, this site's user base isn't too active, but I feel times are changing.  I've been working a lot on the site and hopefully things will pick up some.

Everything you need to know about HDR and a good camera for doing it is found in my HDR tutorial in the Tutorials board here on the MotleyPixel.

You mentioned friends into photography etc. tell them about the MotleyPixel.com and have them sign up...I'd like to see some of their work.

Hope to see you around more.

Thanks,
Roy

Lots of good cameras out there - what's your budget? Nikon D5000 delivers outstanding quality shots. Some of the Pentax DSLRs do HDR in the camera!

Mean people are like slinkys. They're not good for much but are rather entertaining to watch tumble down the stairs.
