Anyway, the urge sometimes strikes me to shoot something other than critters so I took a few shots of a Dremel toolbit on a CD.  Double duty, if you will, as I needed to test the new lighting after mounting a set of Gary Fong Puffers on a cutdown set of Stofens for my Nikon R1C1 twin flash.  These are a few that I liked.  Hope you enjoy them.

All handheld using a Nikon D300(F16, 1/250, ISO200), Nikkor 105mm w/52.5mm extension (~1.9X), 'Puffered' R1C1 flash.

Kenny, I agree that the third image is the best -- great colors and contrast on that one.

I'd like to start trying some subjects like this too.  Kenny, the light is very very good...I don't notice any hots spots in the last frame and that's saying a lot for a metallic subject.  Good job on the GF Puffer mod...been talking to dalantec eh?

Thanks Roy.  Well, yeah, I been listening to Dalantech, but it's hard to argue with the light he gets.  I've had the twinflash for a while and would like to get more use from it.  I hate that it doesn't use AA batts and I can't put closeup lenses on the front, but it's a good flash and the wireless commander works flawlessly.  It doesn't  have balanced fill flash, but hey!  Can't have everything, huh?
