The wind. 'Nuff said?
Went down to Mercer Arboretum & Botanical Gardens this morning. Had heard that the
farfugium japonicum, leopard plant, was blooming and happy to find out that it is indeed. These are a late bloomer of the asteraceae family and the critters, flies, bees etc. just love them. Only problem was the darned wind. Hard to shoot near lifesize today.
#1 Bluebottle fly

#2 Another bluebottle

#3 Hpyselonotus punctiventris

#4 Gave up on the flies and found this little long-tailed skipper on the way out (some blown reds here)

Thanks for looking
