Was on the patio testing my 'new-to-me' Lumix FZ50 by shooting ligularia blooms.  Was just about to call it quits when a lone bottlefly wandered in and started feeding.  Needless to say, I was stoked: a live critter!!  Grin I'll let you be the judge but, for my part, I need a lot more practice with this setup.  Soooo different from a SLR.  This is a Panasonic Lumix FZ50 with a Leica 12X optical zoom to which I've added a Raynox +4 diopter.  Shooting with the onboard flash with Mark Berkery's snoot diffuser.

#1 Ligularia bloom

#2 The rest are the willing bottlefly

#3

#4 A crop to portrait

#5

Thanks for looking.

Nice Kenny...I remember this one:  http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/panasonicfz50/  Any way, I'm getting a 40D this week, are we still on for the mp-e?

Thanks, John.  Dunno if I'd go that far but I appreciate the sentiment.  Cheesy
