Is the pool heated?

The pool is heated when the sun shines on it. Right now it is in the mid 30's. The pump has a freeze switch which triggers when the air temperature gets close to 32. The pool water is also salty, so the freezing point is going to be a little below 32. It has yet to freeze over, but back in 1983 the pool at my apartment complex froze over (about two-three inches thick; that was a long cold spell - two weeks below freezing).

Like the juxtaposition of the blue water and all that white, John. A very nice image...if you like cold.

I can certify the water is cold! Putting my hands in it to do the simplest maintenance chore (like cleaning out the skimmer baskets) makes my hands ache and feel like they are on fire after about 5 seconds. It is great for chilling a bottle of wine -- place the bottle on the steps and wait about 5 minutes - chilled.

Nice scene John...blue on white as opposed to blue on black.
