Got a chance to get out a little this afternoon and found a few things of interest.  Wind still a problem, but not as bad today.

First shot is some green caterpillar, don't know what it plans to become.
Second is a green grasshopper who was actually a pretty cooperative model.

Canon XSi, Canon 100mm f/2.8 Macro, 65mm extension tube, Canon MT-24EX Macro Twin Lites (both heads half power), hand-held, EXIF embedded.

Thanks for looking and as always C&C is greatly appreciated.

See now this is getting me into the spirt.  Tom, I picked up a 40D about 3 months ago and just bought Kenny's MP-E about 4 weeks ago and just 2 weeks ago dropped a mint on the MT-24EX...uggg...I've been so darn busy with family, scouting, and work I just haven't had the time to get it all setup and ready...soon, very soon!

Color balance and light is good...I like how you let in a little BG exposure...something not easy to do at > 1:1 with flash.  Thanks for posting!

I have a new T2i that will arrive tomorrow.  Next purchase is an MP-E.  Oh and I absolutely love my MT-24EX.

Oh yeah, as far as the BG exposure is concerned.  A blind hog can find an acorn every now and then.

Nice work, Tom.  I also have the MT-24EX.  I am now using a different bracket to hold the lights - Lucas Strobe System bracket - http://www.lucasstrobesystems.com/

I need to look into that.  Looks like it would be a little more versatile.
