I've been following a California photographer Patrick Smith for awhile...he used a Canon 5D Mark II and the following filter equipment.  Here's his flickr stream:  http://www.flickr.com/photos/patrick-smith-photography/

Another decent filter that's cheaper by about $30 just an inch shorter which generally is fine except in the NDG HARD edge...as the 6 inches gives you the ability to slide the filter all the way down and effectively use the GND as a straight ND filter, but again only in the HARD edge case.  Also, the Hitech vs. Lee on IQ from what I've read on a scale of 1-10 (10 being best IQ), the Lee is a 10 and the Hitech is 9.8:

The Lee Mulit Filter Pouch that holds five 4"X4" to 4"X6" filters is also a good companion to have:

Yep...he's lucky as it Trey Ratcliff (the HDR King) who lives in Austin but travels the world around the year...dude is only 28...published in the Smithsonian too.
