I'm sure the comparison probably isn't much of a surprise to the people in here, but lets just say, it's amazing... And if I actually had something worth taking a picture of nearby, it would have been even more amazing.

Needless to say, I did a pretty long writeup on my thoughts and some comparisons to my current 12mp Nikon and such on my blog post here:

Thanks for reading.

Nice write-up, Jason - that camera set-up is also way out of my league.

Aside from the camera cost, I would also need to do some serious computer upgrades/replacements to be able to handle/process the image from that camera.

Interesting...the detail is insane!  I'm really looking forward to the day a consumer DSLR at ISO 1000 looks like today's ISO 100.  I wish manufactures will compete more in the sensor technology space and not just the MP space.

Thanks, I agree... WAY out of my league unless the winning lottery numbers for the Wed Powerball jackpot happened to show up in my inbox today. I could "hear" my computer scream bloody mercy when I was editing the TIFF's. Just a few adjustment layers and a couple layers to clean up some other stuff and I easily had a 2GB TIFF file going. Swap disk? I think so...

The detail blew me away. I wasn't even getting that much detail when I took shots with my 85mm F1.4, which typically gives me great detail. (Even then, I was only getting a fraction of the view compared to the 55mm "wide angle" on the Phase One. In the side-by-side comparison shot, I used a Nikkor 14-24 F2.8 lens (which captures great detail typically) and set it to give me roughly the same field of view as the Phase One. Their was no comparison, both in overall image quality, how "clean" the files looked, color fidelity / accuracy and just the magnitudes more pixels resulting in all that detail.

Nice review, I think I would be lost with a camera like that.
