Back to the drawing board. It worked for about 60 shots and gave up. Same problem so deeper I go into it. I don't give up easy!!!!!!

Opened the 30D again a couple of months ago and lubed one more pivot point. I have since taken well over 500 photos without a hitch. I would say the problem is solved!
