Winter of My Discontent
«

Hi all,
Shot this several months ago. I was shooting moving closer to the house as I shot. Right after this shot I noticed the brand new satellite dish on the roof an got the heck outta there.
This was done with my Panasonic LX3. ISO 80, 24mm (in 35mm terms), 1/640th of a second at f4.

Interesting composition...it's a great shot! I almost expect a twister to appear from the top left of the frame...very stormy-like.

Gracias - yeah, a cold front was blowing in from the left there. It did get very stormy for about an hour or so, then it cleared up again.

btw, as far as the composition, I intentionally tilted the camera for an unsettling effect. I also made sure I got the road going off to nowhere in the left side of the shot. It kind of added to the sense of hopelessness to me. But there was also a sense of defiance - like 'I'm beaten and battered, but I'm still f'ing here'.

Thanks - I took it on some little country road out around Walburg. I was heading out to man a turn for the Walburg bike race.
