I tried out this method to achieve smooth slow motion with a Canon EOS 5D Mark II and it works pretty good.

You do see some artifacting here and there but overall it's a decent way to accomplish slow motion with 1920X1080 30fps:

Using Adobe After Effects to create 60P to 24P slow motion footage with the Canon 5D Mark II:
